In this post I share 15 encouraging bible verses/passages to remind you of who God is and that He’s in total control of all things. If we’re unfocused on this undeniable truth, it’s easier to reflect on the problem opposed to remembering God is bigger than any problem.
In times of uncertainty we can only rely on Jesus. He’s the solid rock, the chief cornerstone, the capstone, the stone the builders rejected. He’s all powerful and almighty. He’s sovereign and all power is in His hands. Nothing that happens can happen without it going through Him first. Nothing is hidden from His sight. The wicked already lost the battle! God defeated everything that comes up against His perfect will and plan. Do you believe this?
Let’s look at some verses that remind us of this:
He is the Creator
Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Jeremiah 10:12 But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.
He’s the great I AM, the Lord, and King of Kings
Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 19:16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords.
He is Truth
Numbers 23:19 KJV God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
He is Consistent and in Control
Psalm 50:1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets.
Hebrews 13:8 KJV Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
His Ways and Thoughts are Higher
Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
He’s Lord and Savior
Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Matthew 1:18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
He’s Spirit
John 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
He Can do Anything
Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us
