The spirit of fear is working overtime to kill your dream. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is not the only person that had a dream. He just had enough faith to move into it. Some of your dreams are buried deep within your heart because you keep allowing the spirit of fear to hold you back.
Martin Luther King, Jr. said “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase”.
I am staying on this topic with good reason. It has been an area of my life that God used to grow my relationship with Him since my youth. Therefore, I have some victories within this area many times over as it relates to stepping out on faith to take on something bigger than myself.
Isaiah 41:13 NIV says, For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
When I was little, I had to learn to trust God when I was fearful. Today I still find myself repeating those same steps when I encounter fear because He promised to help me. He will get me through my internal battles.
What about you—will you trust Him?
I know it’s easier said than done. In order to move forward it’s important that you get to the root of what’s causing this fear.
- Are you afraid to involve yourself in a new venture, relationship, or group due to something shameful and embarrassing from your past coming back to haunt you?
- Are you afraid of stepping into a new lane because you don’t feel as experienced, smart, funny, handsome/beautiful, or popular enough to fit in?
I suggest that you go into a quiet room and reveal these insecurities to God. Additionally, spend some time journaling your thoughts as well. This will help you to unload some of the issues that are trapped up in your soul—I call it a soul purge.
I pray that your day is blessed and abundant. I pray that you will experience all of the goodness God has in store for you this season. I pray that you will trust God and move forward in faith in whatever circumstances you may be facing. I declare that fear will no longer have a hold on you. You are victorious In Jesus’ Name-Amen
If you are open to this process, the Holy Spirit will begin directing you to scriptures, teachings, books, etc. that seem to be speaking right to you. You have to be aware. Trust me you are not the only one going through what you are going through. Someone has already broke free from the same issues that are keeping you in a fearful prison.
Soulful, the spirit of fear is a thief, don’t continue to sit idly by and allow it to continue stripping precious years from you.
One of the reasons I poured myself into creating 21 Days to Slay Your Fear is to help you identity areas where you are paralyzed by it.

In Dr. Tony Evans’ book Detours, he mentions how life would look if we all lived out our purpose and destiny. When we live on purpose he says, “It gives you the strength to accept your fears, disappointments, and pain rather than seek distractions to avoid them”.
In other words, if you have something worth fighting for it gives you fuel to overcome the things that stand in your way.
Somehow we accepted the lie that if the dream is it’s too scary, too hard, and too uncomfortable that it must be impossible. It must mean that it’s not meant to be or that we may have heard things wrong about this dream. Lies!
In last weeks post entitled Learn Why Fear is Keeping You From Your Blessings, I took time to discuss how comfort is rooted in fear, so don’t remain too comfortable. Put forth effort to move on and heal.
We’re children of the Most-High God and we are warriors and champions. We defeat giants and win even when it can appear that we’re losing.

In this case, fear is the giant that we have allowed to rob us of God’s awesomeness for our life. We’ve believed its untruths and bought into the deception. Therefore, we remain stuck and scared because we’re too afraid to trust the God that defeated death and planted His Holy Spirit within us when we accepted Him as Savior.
Soulful, fear is strangling your soul. I hope you can see this. Yes, it’s suffocating you and you must break free of it.
Plant your sights on that dream again, or if there is a new one, seek assistance from someone that has already walked the path. When you connect with like minded people that are already moving forward, their success will rub off on you.
