This topic of fear is one dear to my heart. There are too many of God’s children living defeated. That’s why I wanted to share 4 reasons to stop letting fear kill your dream. Your success in being all you were created to be will bring glory to God. His children aren’t to shrink back in fear, which is why you’ll hear my tone being quite direct in these two articles.

David won the fight against Goliath because God defeated Goliath. The reason you are afraid is because you are thinking in the flesh. It is God that does all the fighting—our job is to be obedient and equip ourselves to stand.

4. When You Operate in Faith You Can Slay Your Fear

When David, a mere boy, stood up to Goliath—he believed not in his own power, but in God’s Mighty Spirit.

David was so confident that the only real God he served would work through him and give him the power to slay (this giant) Goliath that taunted his people.

You see, David did not have the spirit of fear, but he had trust and faith in God. He won because he spent a lot of time with God—enough to believe and trust him. He didn’t waste time wresting with the spirit of fear.

His faith was so laser beam focused, all he could see was the victory.

In Hebrews 11:6 the scripture says, without faith it is impossible to please God…

Faith is one of the weapons that the Apostle Paul spoke about in the spiritual warfare armor as well. See Ephesians 6:10-18 and study this armor until you know it like the back of your hand. Fear is a spirit and a spirit must be attacked in the spirit—not the flesh.

You may be saying come on Tanya, let’s be real this sounds good, but there is no way that I can make things happen. I have so many responsibilities. You don’t know what I’ve been through, or what my life, finances, health, or situation is like.

My response is, you’re absolutely correct. I don’t know all that you have going on and your excuses are valid if you are going to live by your own power in the physical realm.

Soulful, the power I’m referring to is found in the spirit. Your weapons to overcome and move forward must be spiritual. The Holy Spirt operates supernaturally. Ask God to strengthen you and show you how to do His will through faith. Your mind must be renewed. The soul must be re-programmed.

Remember it’s not you making anything happen, you are the surrendered vessel that the Holy Spirit is working through. Christ is living through you (Galatians 2:20).

We all have responsibilities and bills to pay. I know many are providing for children, parents, and a spouse—but sometimes we tend to hide behind those realities when it comes to our calling.

God knew you had bills to pay and other things going on when He put the vision in your spirit. He won’t ask anything of you that He won’t equip you to do. When He puts something in your heart, that’s just the beginning. You’ll have to walk the journey in faith, for years sometimes, as He’s preparing you for your assignment.

I’m sure David didn’t see himself as King when he was tending sheep. Moses didn’t choose to free the Israelites once he fled from Egypt. Paul was fine with persecuting Christians and growing in the law. But they each answered the call—the assignment God had for them. On occasion God can tell you one thing and change it later. Even while doing it afraid, you just have to move forward.

1 Samuel 17:33-37 says And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”

But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”

Trust me, you fought through a lot to get where you are today, so don’t underestimate your past victories. Don’t downplay them and write off your past accomplishments as minor. God will deliver you, and defeat your foes and fears too.

We pick our city, spouse, relationships, and careers based on what we want and God’s plans aren’t necessarily that way. God will often times tell us to do things that sound crazy, farfetched, or seem downright insane. The key is when your love grows for Him and you surrender to His Lordship, your desires start to line up with His, thus creating a dream grander than you ever could have imagined for yourself. When that happens life is more exciting than you ever could have thought because you’re now living by design and you are secure with being you.

Who is God memorize scriptures about god

I never dreamed of being a minister or a professional artist. I had other aspirations in the arts and in business. Nonetheless, as my love and bond grew with God (while enduring many tests and trials over the previous years) His purpose for my life is now a dream I excitedly accepted. The beautiful thing is that I wasn’t too far off track when I pursued my own dreams. He’s actually bundled all of them up and I still get a chance to use every bit of what I did in previous years. That’s an example of everything working out for good.
