5 Biblical Principles for Success

Biblical principles for success are a must for you to prioritize in your life, productivity, and business. In this post, I share the biblical principles for success and proven steps for achieving goals as a Christian in life and business. God gives us principles to live by to obey Him, leading to His best for us.

Biblical Principles for Success

1: SET YOUR MIND ON THINGS ABOVE

God wants to give you the desires of your heart, but is your heart set on things above where Christ is seated?

Matthew 6:33-34 NIV says, But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Colossians 3:1-2 NIV says, Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE 2: MAKE PLANS

Planning is important in the Believer’s life, especially when managing a business. Your business goals incorporate other firms and people into your ecosystem as consumers, employees, and contractors. Therefore, it’s wise to plan and set your intentions to manage your time, resources, and human capital effectively.

Proverbs 15:22 NIV, Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE 3: PRAY WITH THANKSGIVING

If you’re not thankful for what you already have, how can you see the hand of God in your life? When you remind yourself of who He is, all He’s done, and all He’s already done, overall, you incline your heart to pray without ceasing. Because of His mercies, we are not consumed because they are new every morning.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV, 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE 4: ASK GOD FOR WISDOM

You cannot run a business without sound instruction and wisdom from God. Solomon asked God for wisdom to manage God’s people.

James 1:5-8 NIV says, If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE 5: READ THE BIBLE DAILY

How can you know what God wants you to do without spending dedicated time in His Word?

Psalm 119:105 KJV, Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Getting caught up and consumed in business ideas, concepts, strategies, and never-ending YouTube recommendations is easy; reading the Bible is not as exciting for some.

Everyone has a business or something to show you. Influencers compete for your attention and will tell you the definition of success. An imbalance of too many other voices and worldviews outside God’s Word is dangerous.

Make sure you stay plugged into the Word of God to know His instructions.

I also recommend that every Believer get in the habit of reading the entire Bible at least bi-annually. Most people start on Bible reading programs at the top of each year. However, I noticed many plans that take you through the Bible in a year but fail to incorporate the reading of the entire book. You don’t have to wait until a new year or have some fancy plan. Just start!

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES FOR SUCCESS – BONUS

And thanks for sticking around to the end. As promised, the one spiritual discipline you can use starting today is to ask the Holy Spirit to override your feelings and will.

When I don’t feel up to doing what I committed to, I always ask the Holy Spirit to work through me to accomplish what God has placed in my heart. I’m completely reliant on Him.

Conclusion

There are more principles that I can speak on in videos to come. But if you incorporate setting your mind on things above, prayer and thanksgiving, daily bible reading, prayer for wisdom and continue to make plans, you’ll live out success as God intended it. May God bless you, and thank you for reading.
