How I Use My 90-Day Goal-Setting Process for Success

Have you ever gotten to the end of the year and wondered where your time went? As Christian business owners, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by your goals and unsure how to bring your dreams to life. So many people set goals and never achieve them because they need a plan.

I first found my answer in biblical principles and then incorporated a concentrated 13-week/90-day goals cycle.Β  This goal-setting process has transformed how I approach my aspirations as a Christian.Β Understanding the 13-week/90-day goals cycle way taught me to set clear, actionable objectives that align with my values and faith. This method not only helps me stay focused and organized but also encourages me to reflect on my progress and celebrate my wins, no matter how small.

The 13-week/90-day goals cycle year system is a simple way to create a plan and achieve your goals to maximize your outputs. In this post, I will show you how it works and how you can use it with spiritual disciplines. So whether you’re looking to lose weight, start a business, or improve your life, please read on.Β

1. Set realistic goals:

As you know I’d never ask or coach you to do anything without first seeking God for wisdom and taking your prayer requests to Him. However, sometimes the Lord may allow us to use a practical tool (since we are business owners) to flesh out the information further

Therefore, with your goals, it’s wise to write out your vision for the next three to five years and set achievable and measurable goals within your reach in 13-week/90-day goals cycle. Then break down your goals into smaller, more manageable tasks over the 13-week/90-day goals cycle into systems.Β

When we drag out the year, we dismiss and fail to take advantage of all the precious time the Lord has blessed us with. Then, as the end of the year draws near, we reflect and feel bad about all we hadn’t accomplished then this causes us to crunch to meet our obligations at the end of the year when the year is drawing to an end.

I coach my clients with a SMART goals method and use annual, quarterly, and monthly goals, breaking them down in a way that makes sense to me to accelerate in the 13-week/90-day goals cycle. I created a sensible system in my Dream Big Goals Planner for those who still use annual goal-setting but want to concentrate on getting the most out of the quarter.Β

I coach Christian business owners to set up stable goals and plans at the end of the year in my Dream Big Plan Bigger Workshop.

2. DEVELOP A PLAN THAT INCLUDES A SYSTEM:

Create a plan for achieving your goals by breaking them down into quarterly increments. Then, move in a 10X way to take steps each week to reach the goal as if it were all the time you have to reach your goals. Breaking down the goals also leads to a system of tracking and keeping up with where you are in the process. For instance:

Goal: Loose 20 lbs this year (13-week/90-day goals cycle)

Research meals and plan them in 4-week increments

Document all meals I eat

Work out with weights 2 days and cardio 3 days per week

Drink 80 oz of water daily.

3. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS:

Track and measure your progress weekly with a scoring system to monitor how close you are to reaching your 13-week/90-day goals cycle. A score of 100% means you accomplished all of the tasks you set up in the daily/weekly system you set up for the goal. Measure and evaluate to ensure you are staying on track and correct any hiccups so you don’t derail the entire process. I set up a way to do this in a tracker where you can check off your habits and measurements.

3. ACCOUNTABILITY (DBGA):

Dream Big Goals Accountability, the 13-week/90-day goals cycle is how my clients remain accountable in a practical way. They use the tracker in the planner and share their score with me. Accountability is good for Christian business owners because building a business is lonely, and getting off track is easy.Β Β

Accountability is Biblical:

Accountability is a biblical principle. We will one day stand for the Lord and give an account for how we used our time and resources for His purposes. Ephesians 4:25 NIVΒ says, Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.Β

Romans 14:12 NIV Research meals and plan them in 4-week increments

We’re to always remain connected to our brethren in the faith for accountability. When we stay close, our brethren will know what we need and can pray for us. Iron sharpens iron and we will learn and glean more wisdom when we include others.

James 5:16 NIV Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Proverbs 27:17 NIV As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

4. CELEBRATE YOUR SUCCESSES AND WINS

In your goals and planning journey you’re working against spiritual warfare when it comes to accomplishing your goals. Therefore, you want to celebrate your good happy moments during your 13-week/90-day goals cycle. Celebrate your successes as you reach each milestone. allowing yourself to enjoy the feeling of accomplishment and motivating you to keep going. How will you reward yourself when you hit your target goals at the end of 12 weeks? You reward yourself in the 13th week.

5. ADJUST YOUR PLAN AS NEEDED:

Not all of the goals and plans you set will turn out as you imagined or hoped. As you progress, it’s important to adjust and refine your strategy and system to ensure they accurately reflect your current situation in achieving your goals. Don’t hesitate to make changes or start over if something isn’t working as you want it to. Remember, every setback is an opportunity for growth, and with each adjustment, you are one step closer to realizing your dreams. Embrace the journey, and trust in your ability to adapt and succeed!
